Symptoms
The engine light comes on and the engine misfires, often only when warm and often intermittently at first. FCA's bulletin lists the codes: P0300 (random misfire) with P0302, P0304 or P0306. Those three are cylinders 2, 4 and 6 — one bank, which is the tell. A misfire spread across both banks is a different problem.
Likely cause
FCA's own description of the condition: "a valve guide and valve seat wear condition on the left cylinder head, which may result in misfire and subsequent illumination of the Malfunction Indicator Light." The remedy is a replacement head, not a repair to the existing one.
How should it be checked?
Read the codes before anything else — this is one of the few problems on this site with a signature you can see on a scan tool for the price of nothing. If the misfires are all on cylinders 2, 4 and 6, that is the pattern in the bulletin. Then check whether a head has already been replaced: FCA's extension ran to 10 years or 150,000 miles from the in-service date, which on a 2012 or 2013 vehicle expired around 2022–2023, so the work was either done inside that window or it is now the owner's cost.
How can you check it yourself?
Bring a code reader, or ask the seller to have the codes read. A stored or pending P0300 with P0302, P0304 or P0306 is the pattern; the same misfire codes on cylinders 1, 3 and 5 point somewhere else. Listen for a rough or uneven idle once the engine is fully warm rather than when you first start it.
The question to ask the shop
Has either cylinder head ever been replaced, and if so which one, when, and at what mileage? Was it done under FCA's extended warranty (D-14-12 / X56)? Are there any stored or pending misfire codes now?
