What we collect, and why
OtoCarFix has no accounts and collects nothing that identifies you. This page says so precisely, and says what the hosting layer records anyway.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. OtoCarFix has no accounts, no sign-in, no newsletter and no forms. You can read every page without telling us anything, and there is nowhere on the site to submit personal information even if you wanted to.
Our hosting provider records ordinary server logs — the requested address, a timestamp, the browser’s user agent and an IP address — because a web server cannot answer a request without them. We do not build profiles from those logs, and nothing on this site joins them to a person.
We do not sell or share your information
There is no information to sell. We run no advertising network and no tracking pixels, and we have no commercial arrangement under which reader data leaves this site. Google Analytics is the one third party that receives anything, and what it receives is described below.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages get read. It is the only third-party service that receives anything about your visit.
What Google receives:
- the pages you open on this site, and in what order
- the site or search that sent you here
- approximate location — country, and usually region or city — derived from your IP address
- device and browser details: type, screen size, operating system, language
- interactions Google Analytics measures by default: scrolling, clicks that leave the site, use of the search box, file downloads
What it does not receive: your name, your email address, or anything you type into the search box beyond the fact that you searched. There is no account on this site, so there is no identity for any of it to attach to.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies to tell one visit from another. Your browser can block or delete them, and the site works exactly the same without them. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely, on every site that uses it.
The settings we chose. Google Analytics offers to share the data it collects back with Google for its own product improvement and recommendations; those options are turned off on this property. Nothing collected here feeds advertising personalisation, and we do not run Google Ads or link this property to any ad account.
Where the data is stored
The site runs on Cloudflare’s network, which serves pages from the location closest to the reader. Server logs live there under Cloudflare’s own retention. The site keeps no database of readers.
Reviewing, changing and deleting your data
Because we hold no account and no record tied to you, there is nothing to show you, correct or delete. If you believe we hold something about you anyway, write to us and we will look and tell you what we find.
Cookies and Do Not Track
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising cookies. Google Analytics sets cookies of its own to tell one visit from the next; that is the only cookie you will pick up here, and blocking it changes nothing about how the site works.
Do Not Track: browsers can send a Do Not Track signal, and there is no agreed standard for what a site must do with one. We do not build advertising profiles, sell data, or follow readers onto other sites, so there is no cross-site tracking here for the signal to switch off. What analytics does collect, it collects from everyone alike — we do not vary it by the signal, and we would rather say so plainly than claim to honour something we do not act on.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone, children included. There is no way for a visitor of any age to post here.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects what we collect, the updated version is published here with a new effective date, and the change is described in plain terms rather than buried in a rewrite.
Effective date: 10 August 2026. Member accounts are planned; if and when they arrive, this policy will be rewritten before the first account is created, not after.
