What is published here is general information. It is not a diagnosis, an inspection, or advice about a specific car you are looking at.

What this site is and is not

Specifications vary by market, model year and trim. Documented problems describe what has been reported on a model — not a finding about the individual car in front of you.

Before you buy, verify against the VIN, the manufacturer’s own data and an independent inspection. Maintenance and repair decisions belong with a qualified mechanic looking at the actual vehicle.

Safety data comes from NHTSA

Complaint counts and recall campaigns are drawn from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public records and carry the date they were retrieved. A complaint count reflects how many reports were filed — it scales with how many cars were sold and how much attention a problem drew, and it is not a failure rate. Check open recalls by VIN at nhtsa.gov before buying.

Your account

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for what is posted from it. We can suspend or remove an account that is used to break these terms.

What you post

Write about cars you have actually owned or driven. Do not post someone else’s writing or photos, personal documents, license plates, VINs, abuse, or undisclosed promotional content.

You keep ownership of what you write. By posting it you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display and distribute it as part of this site. That licence ends for future display when you delete the entry.

Moderation

Readers can report content, and we review what is reported. We may hide or remove content that breaks these terms. Reviewing content does not make us the author of it, and we do not review everything before it appears.

Copyright complaints

If you believe something here infringes your copyright, write to us with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we will remove it if the complaint is valid.

No warranty

This site is provided as is. We work to keep the data accurate and we cite where it came from, but we do not warrant that it is complete, current or fit for a particular decision. Manufacturer data changes, and a car in front of you may differ from any record about its model.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this site — including a purchase decision, a repair decision, or reliance on anything published here.

This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud, for wilful misconduct, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Trademarks

Manufacturer names, model names and logos belong to their owners and are used here only to identify the vehicles being described. Their use does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement by those manufacturers. See how we source data.

These terms may change; the current version is always the one on this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept it.

Governing law and disputes

OtoCarFix is written for readers in the United States but is operated from Türkiye, not from the US. These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

You keep your own courts. Nothing here requires you to bring a claim in another country, and nothing here waives a right you have under the consumer-protection law of the state or country where you live. Where that law gives you something these terms appear to take away, that law wins.

No forced arbitration, and no class-action waiver. Many US sites route every dispute into private arbitration and forbid group claims. These terms do not. This site is free, sells nothing and takes no payment from readers.

If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, that part is set aside and the rest continues to apply.
